National Quilting Day & Stash Report -Week 12

Kim asked us to tell what we did for National Quilting Day...I had 2 months of a BOM from Homestead Hearth to get done...this is Belle Meade by Bonnie Blue Quilts. I have admired this quilt for a very long time and could have very easily done this from my stash but when they offered it, I took the easy way out. I like all the fabrics that they sent and I'm able to make it nice and scrappy...just the way I like it..and I didn't have to take a zillion fabrics off the shelf.

Now for my Stash Report for this week...not anything really earth shattering but I've moved a bit more off the shelf....it really has been fun to use some of this I have.

Fabric Added this Week: 0 yards
Fabric Added Year to Date: 10.75 yards

Fabric Used this Week: 5.75 yards
Fabric Used Year to Date: 70.75 yards

Total Busted: 60 yards

When will the shelves start looking like I'm using yards of fabric...just a little dent will make me really happy.Posted by Picasa

  1. I LOVE the looks of that quilt. I'm such a huge Bonnie Blue fan. I have a pattern sitting on my cutting table that is calling my name. I just can't do it till I've finished some others. Good job!

  2. Carol, I'm crazy about this quilt. I love Bonnie Blue patterns, too. I have a ton of fabric and pattern pulled and sitting right by my sewing machine foot pedal calling my name. Could be in the not too distant future!

  3. Love the BOM! It is sometimes much easier to just order the BOM or kit rather than dig through stash to find the right fabrics. The colors are just beautiful--I can't wait to see this quilt progress!

  8. I love your quilt. I don't mind picking the fabrics from my stash...its putting it all back when I am finished that I don't care for.

  9. Love your quilt! The colors are great! And you've used up a lot of fabric this year...good for you! Do you figure out yardages for jelly rolls, layer cakes, etc. in your stash yardage?

  12. ROFL--to make it look like you've made a dent--REFOLD using the ruler method! Oh, I'm not much help am I! But when I took some time and refolded and sorted my stash, made me want to buy less and use more of what I had. And, it did make a lot of room!

  16. Gorgeous fabrics and a wonderful pattern to show them off in! Your flowers are so pretty...the weather is really starting to get nice here but no blooming plants for me yet. Wow, getting to see the shuttle launch, and from your own house, is totally awesome!! My DH would be green with envy. That tumbler baby quilt with the ME fabric is just too cute! Thanks for always keeping up with my humble blog. I hope to do better by it. :)

  24. I have always loved that block. You are right about ordering the kit. They send such a great collection of scrappy lights, that most folks wouldn't have on hand. That alone is probably worth it. I have a nice stash of Civil War prints that would be perfect for the darks.
