It's Been Way Too Long Since My Last Post...again

I feel like I say it every time I post...where does the time go? the week flew by...it's been too long since I posted...I'll do better...and then here I am again...a week and 2 days since I posted last. This really has been a crazy week...with the kids here last weekend, and you know I loved every second of it, then Monday is my day with Mom, so since she was here for the weekend we did all of her errands on our way back to her place. Tuesday and Wednesday were cleaning, laundry, grocery shopping...all that boring stuff...and then Thursday we spent at the orthopedic surgeon's office and the hospital getting Andy pre-registered for his knee replacement surgery this Tuesday. We have to be at the hospital at 5 a.m. for surgery at 7...he'll be in the hospital 4 days and then I'll get to bring him home. We'll have physical therapy here at the house along with the machine that he will have his leg in that keeps bending his knee...can't let it get frozen up. So this will be a crazy week, but we'll be so happy to have this behind us...he's been in such pain for so long, it will be a relief for him to be able to take steps without huge cracking sounds and shooting pain. Well, enough of that...

Here are a few more pictures of Camden and Hampton from last weekend...OMG, they made us smile the entire weekend. Here's what mom did a good part of the weekend...Camden loved her new quilt... and this wonderful seat with all kinds of things to look at...Howie made sure he was never too far away from her. She loved standing up...I think Andy did this for hours...and he loved every minute of it.

Hampton had a wonderful time in the pool...he thought that the spa was just the right size for him...he also thought riding on Grandy's raft was about the most wonderful thing in the world...he had Josh pushing him around the pool all afternoon. This was Friday afternoon...he couldn't wait on Saturday to get back in the pool.

He was back in Andy's office and came out with my exercise ball...he and Grandy thought this was just a hoot...Hampton's holding up the world.

What a wonderful, wonderful weekend we had. No sewing going on here at all...I did get some things cut out...my plan is to bring my sewing machine downstairs to the dining room while Andy's recuperating. I can sew downstairs while he's resting, or hooked up to his machine...then I'll be right here if he needs me.

I'll try to get back here with a quick post on Tuesday to let you know how everything went. Have a great week!

Camden and Howie Meet

We got the best surprise this week....Josh called on Tuesday and said they'd be here for a visit on Thursday...after I caught my breath, made my lists and got it all together I was very, very excited. They arrived last night at about 11...it was a very long day for them. Miss Camden was the first one up...so Grandy and I got her all to ourselves. Howie just loves her...and she thinks he's the best...she just giggles and giggles. So no sewing this weekend...I'll be back with lots more pictures.

Another One Off the To Do List

YIPPEE!!! I was able to draw a big line through one more top from my to do list. Thanks to the Charming Girls Club, a top that I absolutely love is finished. I realized that I started this one well over a year ago...I wish I could understand why I do this...I love it and then somehow I push it to the back of the stacks and it's lost for a long time. I need to work on this... I rounded up my quilt holder so I could take a picture...hmm don't think this is exactly what I had in mind...
There that's better...
I achieved my August Charming Girl goals! WAHOO!

August Charming Girl Projects

Sliding right in under the wire...Here are my August Charming Girl Projects...I've been working on this first project for months and like last month's project, it just kept getting pushed to the bottom of the stack...so this month it's at the top and it will be done. The pattern came from Country Loft and is by The Cottage of Cardiff Farms.

I just started this top last week and I'm loving it...it is so fun... This is French Zig from French Farmhouse by Renee Nanneman and Need'l Love. Someone told me the other day that Christmas will be here before we know it...maybe I'll be ready. LOL! My plan is to have both of these flimsies finished and ready for the quilter by the end of August. This is such good motivation! Thanks Kelly!

How Did This Happen?

HELP!!!!!!!!!!! Can someone please tell me how this happened????? How did our Little Miss get so big already?Josh and Katie took Hampton and Camden to the Birmingham Botanical Gardens last Saturday and met a photographer there. She took some wonderful black and white pictures. I love this picture......oh I need to get back up there so I can squeeze these little people.

What a Lucky Girl I Am!

I am one really lucky girl...I won a giveaway over at Quilting on Turtle Hill...I am over the top in love with the wonderful key chain...oh how did Cathy know that I lose my keys regularly in my purse...not any more...Thank you Cathy. I love the book, what a great pattern and look at those fat quarters and border fabric...I think Little Miss Camden will be getting a new quilt with that fabric. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you Cathy...what a treat!

Andy's out of town for a few days and look who was in the pool this morning...the boys went out back after their breakfast and were just having a fit...barking like crazy...I was almost afraid to look to see what all the commotion was about...here it was, this poor little frog that mishopped some time in the night and landed in the pool...but wasn't he smart, he found his own little island...the pool cleaner hose. I scooped him out with the net and put him back in the bushes. The boys spent another 20 minutes trying to figure out where he had gone.

Is there anyone that can believe that today is the 1st of August? Didn't we just do the 4th of July? The days are flying and I can't keep up...I need to sew faster...or maybe give up some things...cooking, cleaning, laundry....Hmmmm, I'll have to ponder that!
