I loved this fabric the moment I saw it...it just reminded me of the wrapping paper on Christmas gifts when I was a kid. Lots of memories...when I finished it
this afternoon and brought it down for my Mr. QuiltHolder to help me get a photo, he immediately said, "Who is this one for?" and just as immediately I responded "It's for me". I don't do that very often...my quilts usually go to someone else, not this one...I'm going to curl up in the memories.
Good for you! I don't blame you - it is beautiful and may those memories, and your quilt bring you much joy! Isn't it great how a fabric, or a song, or a smell can whisk you right back to when you were a child?
ReplyDeleteIt is gorgeous! I'm glad you are keeping it - every so often you need to do that! ~Jeanne

ReplyDeleteSo cute Carol! I agree... the Dear Santa fabric reminds me of x-mas wrapping paper of days gone by. I'm happy the quilt is for you!

ReplyDeleteI'm thrilled that you're going to keep this one for yourself. woohoo!!!!
Gotta keep one now and then. Cute quilt!
ReplyDeleteNice choice for a keeper! : )
ReplyDeleteI'm not a Christmas fabric person but I agree, there is a lot of "when I was a child" in that fabric. I keep about a quarter of the quilts I make because I love sleeping under and waking up to them. Every morning I find I smile as I see the quilt. And I change them out almost every time I change the sheets. Never a dull moment in my bedroom. ;-)
ReplyDeleteSometimes you just have to do that!
ReplyDeleteYay! One for you -- it's adorable!!!
