Happy Anniversary Judie!

When I saw Temecula Quilt Company was doing an Anniversary quilt for Judi Rothermel's 25th Anniversary...I knew I had to do it...Judie's fabrics have been some of my very favorites over all the years I've been quilting...her wonderful Aunt Grace fabrics have been in many baby quilts over the years and her Civil War repros are second to none...her fabrics also hold a very special place in my heart...when I opened my shop on Dec. 1, 1999 the first whole collection I had was a group of Judie's...it was a huge hit and I think I had every collection of Judie's in the shop until I closed in Aug. 2007.

We're having a grey, misty day today so  Mr. Quilt Holder had to do his job inside...well, my timing wasn't very good, he was watching the Daytona 500, but I assured him we'd be quick...not that quick dear...
now you'll have to hold it for just another second.

Thank you Judie for these wonderful fabrics...thank you Temecula Quilt Company for a wonderful design...I loved every minute of making this quilt!

  1. Very nice, Carol. (I love the first photo, BTW.)
Seeing your lovely finish may inspire me to wrap things up on mine tomorrow.
Judie's prints were some of my first repro fabrics. Wish there was a shop near me that carried them regularly. It is pretty hit and miss around here.

  3. I love Judie's fabrics I met her briefly in 2007 when she had a booth at the Quilt Festival in Chicago. Her fabrics have always been so beautiful and heart warming :-)

  6. I have the same troubles with my Mr. Quilt Holder. ;-) Gorgeous quilt, even if it took a couple of tries to get a nice photo of it.

  8. You brat! I just love it and am kicking myself for not joining in. I am not sure when I would have scheduled it in but it would have been with losing a little sleep over. I went to take a quilt to my quilter and she had one there from her friend. She also did a great job.

LOVE IT!!! Just a tad green with envy. I'll bet your shop was my kind of place.

  9. Was Mr. Quilt holder trying to see Danika win? Love the quilt. I didn't know Judie was the creator of some of my favorite fabrics!

  10. Sometimes there isn't enough chocolate to get the quilt holder to do what we need!

I've been lucky enough to vend at some of the same shows where Judie is vending. She is the only one that I buy from. I, too, have loved her fabrics for all this time. So consistent .....

  12. Judie's fabrics are my favorites, too. I can't get them in my area so always stock up when I'm traveling. Just emptied my wallet while in So. Cal. so I can finish Temecula's sew along. The stores were almost sold out! I only have row 1 done.Your darling finish has spurred me to get mine done.

  20. How could I have neglected to tell you how much I love your Temecula project!! I'll get back to mine hopefully next week when my sewing partner (and partner in fabric crime!) returns. We are making it a true sew-along and I don't want to get too far ahead lol.
    Have a grand weekend...
