Rainy Days and Sunday...

Not exactly the way the song goes, but I'll bet you're singing along with me again!  Today is the second day of rain, rain, rain.  The sun's face never came out yesterday and today is just the same.  I looked outside at 9:30 and the street lights were still on...
now I know the days are getting shorter and it's staying dark a bit later in the morning, but this was really late.  No sun today...dark and dreary and lots of rain...but I'm just as happy as I can be...you'll find me up in my sewing room all afternoon...I'm going to try and finish Hampton's Big Brother quilt top today...and I'll be staying nice and dry.  ENJOY your Sunday!

  1. I love sewing on a rainy day. You're so lucky with that rain we here in AZ, unfortunately, are reverting back to summer with temps to be 99 degrees next week, yuck! Enjoy your rainy sewing rain.

  2. Sometimes we just need to rise above the gloomy rain and enjoy and embrace the opportunity to really get serious in our rooms. Our rain comes on Tuesday and I am actually looking forward to it. Judy C

  3. No rain here, but a little gray and windy. I'm not complaining, though -- just happy the heat is behind us. :-)

  4. Oh I love days like that and we haven't had one in what seems like AGES. So definitely go enjoy it---and send some up our way please. :)

  5. I love rainy days for just that reason....you can hide away inside and do some amazing stuff!

  6. We've had rain for days, but last night it cleared off and left frost on the pumpkins!
Rainy days are a great excuse to hide away and sew, aren't they?

  7. That's the perfect day to hid away in your sewing room and sew, sew and sew :). We have a drizzly cold day here in MN and I'm heading up to the nest to get ready for retreat this coming weekend. Enjoy your day :)

  11. I wish we could get some rain. We had warm sunny weather yesterday, but I still used the afternoon to quilt. And I think I'm going to use this afternoon to quilt as well while we watch the baseball game!

  12. We have had unseasonably wonderful weather in Illinois! It has been in the upper 70's and even the lower 80's and warm and sunny all week! It does make it tough to go inside and stitch while it is still so nice outside! Goodness knows the rain will soom come and then the dreaded four letter word (SNOW)!

  13. I am sick of the rain. Darrell has had to drain water out of the pool three times so far. Now more rain is on the way.

  17. Rain for us means a bit of the end of the drought. We haven't seen rain since June.
