Sounds like a funny weather report....but that's what Mrs. Goodneedle said in her comment on my last post and that just made me giggle all afternoon for some reason...then of course I did start singing "Snowballs on a rainy day..." Andy reminded me that the song really went "Sunshine on a cloudy day..." I like my way better...thank you Mrs. Goodneedle for the giggles. Well, I got that section of the quilt done but couldn't get a decent picture...it's been grey and dreary and rained on and off since I finished it...finally today, after an incredible storm, where it got dark as night, the wind blew from what they said in 70 mph gusts, pool furniture in the pool...absolutely crazy...the sun came out for about half an hour and I ran outside and snapped a picture.
Andy wasn't available to hold for me and I was afraid to wait for fear the sun would go away again so I put it down on the grass...it looks kind of bumpy, but I promise it's nice and straight.
I sewed today and just about have my spool quilt finished...I need to stitch the borders on tonight while I watch NCAA basketball...and I'll have another March project finished. Hopefully I'll have a picture tomorrow.
Has anyone ever told you that you're a bit nuts? Buy, hey, it's a "good" kind of nuts. LOL
ReplyDeleteI'm really slacking in my March sewing.
Love your snowballs. That quilt is a beauty, have fun with it. I am jealous that I didn't get the kit when they had them.
ReplyDeleteHasn't it rained a lot? Wow! I can't remember when we've gotten so much rain! You snowballs are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteIt rained and rained all day here. I would have loved to stitch the day away rather than be out with hubby on errands that he wanted to do. He says he couldn't play on a day like today...meaning be outside tinkering. I could have played! Your little snowballs are sweet. Is that from the Quiltalong?
ReplyDeleteI love this quilt too. I made it from the kit after the magazine came out. It's worth the effort.
ReplyDeleteNever waste the sunshine--- Grab a quilt picture...that's what I say.... Darling piece.
ReplyDeleteLove the snowballs! I might be able to make some tomorrow with real snow. Cross your fingers for a Snow Day!!
ReplyDeletefun snowballs!
ReplyDeleteGood use of the few minutes of sunshine. Love your snowballs. - applause, applause!!!!
ReplyDeleteNow that song will be with me all evening. : )
ReplyDeleteLove this little snowball center. I have always been drawn to this block--so why haven't I made a quilt with it? This might inspire me!
Love your snowball quilt...great fabrics!
ReplyDeleteI have snowball weather here in WI, so your quilt looks just right to me. We sure can't take Mother Nature for granted here.
ReplyDeleteMarch is supposed to be "in like a lion and out like a lamb" not vice versa. The wind was something yesterday. We so needed the rain that I am not complaining. A good day to stay in and sew.
ReplyDeleteWhat a dynamite quilt this will be, and it all began with a few snowballs! I think that might be the easy part of this quilt, so good luck with the rest of it!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you're having great fun despite the weather. Hope the pool furniture did not go in the deep end.
ReplyDeleteThats one of my favorite quilts. You are going to love putting the boarders together. Chop chop:)
ReplyDeleteLove the pop of orangy-yellow among the snowballs- so cute! Isn't it a fun block to make? It was nice to see green grass under the snowballs... there's a layer of snow on my grass... Spring! Where are you?!?!?
ReplyDeletelooking good, my dear, looking good. It has my favorite must have- a touch of orange.
ReplyDeleteMaybe one day I'll have some green grass to lay my quilts on...ha!! By June perhaps??
Happy sewing...
I really like your quilt. Now I've got the song playing in my head. Hugs
ReplyDeleteYour snowball quilt is looking fantastic, that pattern has been on my list for a long time.
ReplyDeleteLoving your spring snowballs!! NCAA basketball isn't turning out the way we'd hoped here... groan.
