Let's Finish Our Quilts Up!

This has been more fun than I can even express...I hope you all had as much fun as we did...this week we don't have any new instructions ...just finish up your borders and quilt any way you want.    We won't post next week, but we'll be back August 4th for the parade of quilts...so make sure you send Kelly or I a link to your quilt and we'll have some prizes for the parade.  You do not have to have your quilt quilted and bound to be entered in the parade, but we want to give everyone the chance to finish if you'd like to finish! For binding, if you'd like to look at a quick and easy method - please check out Kelly's binding tutorial HERE! To be included in the parade, you only need to have the quilt top finished!  We're really looking forward to a fun parade. I got a wonderful picture from Wendy "No Blog" yesterday of her finished top...I'm going to save it until the 4th for our parade.  I'm looking forward to seeing all the quilts. Have fun finishing up and we'll see you on the 4th of August!

Another Wonderful Week at the Beach

Another wonderful week at the beach has come to an end. Mom and I had a great week. The most gorgeous sunset...absolutely amazing!

Mom and I read lots of books...I finished 3 and got to the middle of a 4th...here's mom's annual book reading picture...she is just too quick...she see's that camera come out and up in front of her face...in years past it's been her book...this year it's her Kindle. Probably the best gift we ever got her...she loves it...and packing this year was so much easier...instead of packing a big basket of books we each just loaded up our Kindle's. It was an awesome week! Already looking forward to next year...I've only been home 24 hours!

Do You Want to do the Pieced Border?

Kelly has a real treat for you all this week...if you're making the big version and you'd  like Kelly's wonderful pieced border...head on over to her blog for the instructions.  She's done all the math and has it ready to go for you.

If you're going to do my plain border...you get a week off.  There's lots of work involved in that pieced border so we thought that would be enough work for one week.  So if you need to catch up or you have something else you have to work on, this is the week to do it.  I'll be back next week with the directions for putting it together.

Have a great week! I'm so looking forward to our "Simple Things" Parade...we're going to have some really awesome quilts!
