It's Thursday

Well, it's Thursday Jan 4 here in Orlando and it's supposed to be 81 degrees today...tomorrow 84...YUCK! They say it's El Nino or Nina, I really don't know the difference, all I know is that it is warm and wet. I just want it to be cooler...It is January. Of course, the folks that are down here vacationing from the cold parts of the country just love it. Enough complaining this morning :) One of my New Year's goals was to drop the 15 pounds I have put on in the last year. I did South Beach about 3 years ago and it was just wonderful. Lost 25 pounds, felt great, kept it off and then in the last year I don't know what happened, I really do know, I started increasing portions and eating bad stuff when I was hungry. So I started back on South Beach on Tuesday, am eating good food again and like magic I've lost 3-1/2 pounds. HMMM! guess the secret is just eat good stuff and not a ton of anything. I'm feeling good and not deprived so that's a very good thing. Andy is doing it with me so that really helps. We've also committed to walking at least 4 days a week...it's on the calendar...so you know me, if it's on the calendar it gets done. I had a great day yesterday...I was off from the shop and stayed home almost all day, only had to run to the bank and the post office. I did some laundry, and a little cleaning and then just sewed the rest of the day. I felt like I was in heaven. I finished the BRIGHT snowman quilt for Hampton...it is so cute. I'll post a picture after the binding is on. I also worked on the Spa Day project for the shop and did little bits for me. It was a great day! You just can't beat a day in the sewing room.

We are having warm weather is so. Cal, too. While I understand we will never have snow, I would like some cool to cold days and maybe even a little rain -- at least it looks cold through the window *s* Congrats on the weight loss -- isn't funny, there are no tricks. We know what to do and feel so much better when we do. Keep it up.

Same here, Carol, (and Libby). It's supposed to be much cooler here in northeast TN...and I want some snow, thank you very much!!! LOL Carol, my husband is in your neck of the woods as of last night. He's at the FUN Show (coins/paper money) in Orlando. :) He'll be home sometime Saturday afternoon, so I'm grabbing some that time to play. :) But you know what, I have so many quilting blogs that I visit that I end up spending WAAAYYY too much time on the computer and not nearly enough sewing. But hey, I've met bunches of wonderful new friends, so I'm really not complaining. BTW, can't wait to see the bright Snowman quilt! :)

I really enjoyed reading your blog today. Your dogs are great, and your new grandbaby is precious!

When I was low-carbing I steadily lost weight and felt great. So why did I stop? I'm not sure but I'm back on again! I won't weigh myself again until the first of February but I've been pretty good about staying on plan for the last week and feel like I have a bit more energy. Maybe that's wishful thinking but I'll take fake energy over none at all any day!

Best of luck with losing the weight. It's so hard when one doesn't have hormones any more! I have to walk and walk, and walk! And then walk some more. =) Enjoy that weather!
