Best Laid Plans

The week wasn't exactly what it was supposed to be...Andy had business in San Diego this week...YUP, I was going with him...business meetings for him, quilt shops for me and Sharon was coming down and we were going to have a wonderful time...best laid plans. Zack had some spots on him and Andy decided that he'd take him to the vet to make sure that everything was OK since we were leaving him with a pet sitter. He had a bacterial skin infection and the vet put him on prednisone and antibiotics. Side effects...poops and excessive drinking so you know what that means. The pet sitter works so he would have been alone for long times during the day. Long story short, I cancelled my ticket (I love Southwest) and stayed home...Andy left Sunday and will be home tonight. Lots of trips outside for Zack and I, but I got some sewing done.

I finished the Spring House section of the Four Seasons BOM...oh I love this...

I got 2 more Web Samper blocks done...2 more to go and I'll get to start putting it together. Whew, these blocks are labor intensive but I like them a lot.

I worked on the pinwheel baby quilt that I showed parts of before I went to Chicago...I'll show you that one when I get the top finished...it is so cute, but a bit more work than I anticipated.

I'll leave you with a not very good picture of my boys...I was upstairs and looked over the balcony and there they were...the light is bad, the battery was in need of charging, but I think you can see them...they're waiting for their daddy...

Oh I'm so sorry you had to cancel your trip to CA but I hope that Zack is doing better!

Sewing is a good alternative to shop hopping. LOL

As long as Zack is getting better - that's the important thing. Country Loft will be here next time *S*

Sorry your plans had to be changed. Glad to read that Zach is feeling better. Ms Cami has had something similar to that. I love how the boys are waiting for their Daddy - what a cute pic.

Hugs - Karen

Sorry you had to cancel your trip but glad to hear that Zack is better. You used your time at home productively, though.
Darn, I was looking forward to seeing all of what all you would bring back from California.

So sorry to hear your trip got canceled but the pup needed some TLC, I hope all is better now.

Your blocks look as difficult as my Lori Smith blocks, they are a big challenger for sure.

The blocks look quite labor intensive, but they will be worth the extra effort in the long run. Sorry to hear about Zack. You are a good mommy for staying home.

Poor Zack and poor you! Zack doesn't know it, but he's glad you stayed home with him - I would have done the same. I hope he's all better now.
I love how you spent the week, though - you've created some beautiful blocks!
What an adorable photo of the boys at the front door - they are so sweet!

I totally messed up on block 2 and got my color placement all wrong! I am ok with the way it turned out though--not worth re-doing it. You are so right about these blocks being labor intensive. The quilt will be gorgeous when it's done though!
