Ready or Not...

Well, I thought I was ready...that's what I get for thinking...About 2 weeks ago Katie called and said that they had taken Hampton and Camden to see Santa and that Hampton had told Santa that the only thing he wanted for Christmas was SC Ruffey...Yes, it's one of Thomas the Train's friends and it's RETIRED! Recently retired, but retired none the less. So what does Mamie do? Go online...I spent about 2 hours online and finally found one...it cost almost twice what it cost when they were available everywhere and the shipping was more than that...but it was for Hampton and that's all he wanted from Santa. I put in the comment section that it was very important that they not send it to the billing address, that I needed them to send it to the shipping address, which was Katie and Josh's address...I explained how very important this was, they were going to make a little boy's Christmas...their response was "No problem"...yes you know where this is going. I came home from my day with mom yesterday and what was in my stack of mail...the train. So this morning I was at UPS the moment the opened and spent another small fortune to overnight this little train to Hampton so it would get there for Christmas. Fingers crossed...please UPS come through for me!

I've been getting a little sewing done...finished another Charming Girls goal for December. I got the binding on last year's Designer BOM from The Fat Quarter Shop. I absolutely love this quilt...the fabrics are wonderful and it's a great size...perfect for snuggling on the couch.

I also got this month's Designer BOM block done...this was a fun one and this Glace fabric is so pretty. This is going to be one gorgeous quilt. Here's my Cindy Lou Who Schnibble from a couple of months ago made from Glace...I got the binding on just in the knick of time.

Last pic for today...this is the picture that the kids used for their Christmas card...Katie's been smocking up a storm.

My wish for all of you is a very Merry Christmas! Take time to enjoy the day!

Well my gosh -- I'm sorry to hear about the train, and I'll cross my fingers that UPS makes it through for little Camden. I love your BOM from last year -- I just bought it a few months ago, and can't wait to make it! And, your Cindy Lou Who with the Glace fabric is too cute - it will go great with this year's BOM. You're so right, the BOM this year is going to be gorgeous! So glad you're finding some time to sew with the busynes of the holidays!

The Glace Schnibbles is adorable.

Yes, everything is adorable, pretty and sweet but not as adorable, cute and sweet as Hampton and Little Miss Camden. OMG, they are just precious!

I think I knew where the train would end up the minute you started the story. Yesterday I get a parcel from Fed X - my daughter phoned and told me to open it...how do I like it...? i could tell she was excited..It was someone else's album...it was suppose to be her wedding album which was to be their gift to us....I felt so bad for her...But she got on the phone and got it all sorted out! We got the right album today but somewhere out there is someone waiting for their album...What a mess!
Keep smiling!
Merry Christmas!!
PS You'll have a great story to tell Camden when he is all grown up!

Oh the things that we will do in the name of Santa!

After my Little Person sat with Santa, I politely and very quietly, asked Santa what he had asked for. I just had to make sure that I already bought it! You know!

Love your BOM and your Cindy Lou!....My BOM is MIA in the bottom of the box!

Have a Merry Christmas!

UPS is usually very good about delivering when they say they will...I have seen them still out delivering late into the night at Christmas time! You have gotten a lot done, I love it all. I haven't been in my sewing room since the beginning of November, except to wrap presents!

Cute story about the train gift but I know it was frustrating to have it delivered to the wrong address. I had a gift shipped to my great grand-daughter through Amazon by UPS. It was delivered on Dec. 3rd but not to her. Someone signed for it but my grand-daughter has not figured out who. I gave her the info about shipping # and all but haven't heard any more as of yet.

The quilt you just sewed the binding on is very good!

Merry Christmas to you Carol and your family. The grandkids are so cute! As for your sewing, you've been busy! Good job finishing the binding on the Designer BOM '08 and the Cindy Lou Who Schnibble. My block #7 from Designer BOM '09 arrived in the mail today, it'll have to wait a bit before I can get to it. Enjoy the holidays!

Loved your pictures--especially the one of the children in their green smocked outfits. When mine were little (they are all in their 20's now) I smocked everything my daughter wore and loads for my sons until they were out of preschool. I hope you share more of them in their smocked outfits.
