I Think I Lost a Week

How does this keep happening?  I just don't know...we got home late Sunday afternoon...the boys greeted us full of excitement for about 2 minutes and then went back to their beds and went back to sleep.  At first I thought maybe they were giving us the cold shoulder for leaving them, and then after talking with our neighbors discovered that they had a wonderful time with the pet sitters, I think Zack even took a swim in the pool...he hasn't done that yet this year.  It really made me happy that they were so content.  We unpacked, started a load of laundry, had a quick dinner and both realized we were pooped.  Monday
was my day with mom, and she had lots of errands to do...got home Monday late afternoon...I was pooped.  Tuesday back to the gym, a week off and the stairmaster really got the best of me....and then somewhere I lost Wednesday. Thursday and Friday...here we are at Saturday afternoon.  I did get a little sewing done...this month's blocks from Civil War Chronicles and my plan is that tomorrow I'll get Months 1-3 put together...I'll have a picture of that section tomorrow. I have absolutely no idea how to move this picture where I want it to be...sorry...I switched to the new editor and I'm not quite getting it yet.   I also finished the top from the blocks that my friend gave me at our retreat in February...she had all the blocks done and all the alternate squares cut, I just had to cut the setting triangles and sew the rows together...I'll have a picture of that tomorrow too...promise.

Our trip was wonderful...we had the best time...The only thing we didn't get to do was our tour of the White House...it was supposed to be Thursday evening at 7:30...that just happened to be the night that they worked all night on the budget to keep the government open.  No visitors in the White House...the President was meeting with Mr. Reid and Mr. Boehner at 7...our friend's daughter that had arranged the tour for us just felt so badly...we were disappointed but it was far more important that they get that taken care of.  We saw everything we wanted to see and enjoyed every minute of it.  I think we walked a hundred miles...LOL!  The cherry blossoms were gorgeous and the daffodils, tulips and hyacinths were all beyond belief.

I'll be back tomorrow with some quilty pictures...If anyone can tell me what to do with these pictures I'll be forever in your debt...these pictures have been all over this post and I can't figure out a thing...HELP!

Hmm, I have no idea how to fix your picture placement, but I sure enjoyed looking at them. Glad you had a lovely time and are home safe.

What a great trip! Too bad about the White House tour, but now you have a great reason to go back :-) I don't know about your picture dilemma, I haven't switched to the new editor. Someone blogged about how to switch to the new editor recently, but now I don't remember who it was. That wasn't helpful was it? LOL!

Sounds like you had a good time in D.C. It has been a number of years since we were there but I was happy that it was Cherry Blossom time. It is an awesome sight.

Are you highlighting the picture you want to put in a certain place before clicking on the add button (or whatever it says)? I found that I was getting two or three pictures added at a time if more than one had the red highlight surrounding the pictures.

Welcome home. It always takes a week to catch up after a fun vacation. It looks like you were there at the perfect time of year.

Ah D.C. during Cherry Blossom time - lovely!!! I'm so glad you had a wonderful time, but sorry you missed out on the White House tour. I can relate to losing days - sigh.

I use flickr to upload my pics into blogger, so I have no clue how to help with pics, sorry!

Thanks for sharing the update of things. I enjoyed reading about the boys and the fun they had. Such the dog lover ya know!!! We had out BOM meeting yesterday and I had nothing to show for you. Your blocks almost inspire me to stop collecting the fabric and get on the stick! I was thinking… just came to mind… How's mom?

It always seems we need a rest after our vacation. DC is glorious in the Spring. I was lucky enough to live in Japan for 3 Springs and witness the Cherry Trees in bloom there too. Hope someone can help with the pictures. I switched to new blogger a while back and you put your cursor on the page where you want your photo then add photo and it shows up where I want it. Then you can choose the size of photo your want and if you want it centered, left or right.

It sounds like a wonderful time of the year to go.
I love your CW blocks and look forward to seeing more.

What editor are you using for blogger?

Oh time does fly. I'm sorry you didn't get to do the White House Tour - but those photos are just gorgeous. LOVE the flowers - thanks for sharing with us. After all that busyness with reorienting after vacation and lots of errands with mom - I'm glad to hear you got a few days to rest up and stitch (smile)!!!
