Cut today...Ready to SEW!

It was hot today...not as hot as a lot of places but hot...so I stayed inside and cut.  I got all the blocks cut for a new project that I've been stewing on since mom passed away...I think I have it figured out and I'm really excited...but what I really want to share with you today are these cookie sheets
I found to hold my pieces...each tray is holding 4 blocks...I'm ready to start running those pieces through the machine tomorrow.  I was in the Dollar Tree yesterday because I had seen these h2o water blasters on Nedra's blog yesterday and knew I needed to get 2 of those to take with me to Birmingham on Friday.  The kids are spending lots of time playing in the sprinklers so these will add to their fun.  While I was walking around I saw these cookie sheets and decided they would be just what I needed...$1 each...I got 12 and I'm loving them.  May just have to go back and get some more...

That's one way to stack and keep block pieces organized. As long as one of your "boys" doesn't come along and knock them over. Can't beat $1 each. I should go to the dollar store more often.
I sewed some of my nine patch blocks together but had to stop and work on a BOM (little applique pieces).

WOW what a great idea to keeping things organized. I was thinking the same thing Karen said about the boys strolling along and knocking the trays lol. Cuz they like to be close I'm sure where you are :)

Great idea and the price is the right! And if nothing else, you could use them to paddle the boat if it keeps raining!

OMG, what a terrific idea. I've used paper plates for years but I like this idea much better. Next time I'm out and about I'm stopping by the dollar store. :-)

The cookie sheets are a terrific idea - thanks very sharing. I've never been to a Dollar Tree (I might be the last person in America) but now I'll have to look for one.

WOW Carol!!! I want to bake my quilts too...if I could they would get 'done' a lot faster, LOL. BUT, in all honesty, I'm heading for the Dollar store tomorrow.(or Monday if they are closed tomorrow). I really love this idea and can see it helping in so many ways in my sewing room. Thanks for the tip. Also, I'm so sorry I haven't gotten back to you since you checked in to see how I was doing. Time just got away from me and I have had a few health issues, nothing to bad, but they cause major fatigue. I promise I will email you soon! Big, Big, Hugs...

That looks like a great idea but where do you keep them? My sewing room is jam packed as it is...do you just leave them out? I need something like that for sure. I'm doing a UFO finishing project but it's so slow! Now I have to go to Dollar Tree-lol.

I'm afraid they would make me want cookies. Chocolate chip cookies are a definite weakness!
You are ready to sew up a storm--and I wish you would and send it out west to douse our wildfires.

Great bargain! I have a dozen wicker "party" trays that get used more for holding fabric/blocks that they do for parties.

Great Idea-- So many mistakes come from not having things organized--- my weakness.

What a good idea! :o)

I hope the water blasters are a hit! And I use Lori Holts idea of making mini design boards to hold my fabric cuts. They work perfectly!

now that is a good and cheap way to stay organized.

Never thought to look for cookie sheets at the dollar store!

what a cheap and brilliant idea! Once I get back to the sewing room I should think about something like this to organize and keep my block construction on the move. Might get more done?? We'll see :-)
Stay cool....enjoy the grandkids!

Brilliant! I use antique trays, but they are small and not so cleverly stackable. Thanks for sharing!
