YUMMERS!

Another Christmas Eve and Christmas Day have come and gone...I was reading someone's blog this morning and she mentioned that it comes and goes faster every year...I don't think I've ever heard a truer statement.  We were invited to our neighbor's for dinner Christmas Eve...they just couldn't have us being home by ourselves for Christmas Eve...it was wonderful.  The meal was out of this world and the company was better.  We had such a good time...it was an evening I wasn't sure I was going to enjoy...first Christmas Eve without Mom, but our neighbors made it a great evening.

I have to share the most yummy dessert recipe...when our neighbors invited us I said we'd love to come but that I really wanted to bring something...Joy asked me to bring dessert...so off to Pinterest I went...yes I am the one that wasn't going to Pinterest, but we've already had that discussion..LOL!  Back in October Sherri over at A Quilting Life was taking part in the MODA Sweet Celebrations Blog Hop...part of her blogpost was a dessert recipe...I had pinned the recipe and when Joy said dessert I knew exactly what I was going to take...Angel Food Ice Cream Cake
...OH MY GOODNESS!  This is positively "lick the plate clean" yummy...and it was easy to do. Everyone at dinner just raved about it...I will surely do this again...thank you Sherri!

Just have to share this second picture of the cake...Andy held it down a little further to see if I could get a better picture and there came Howie...
...he needed a better look!

I'm so glad your holidays were wonderful. Ours were too. Children and grandchildren and parents. Somehow it stayed pretty calm and relaxing!

Darmed, I don't know the neighbors so I guess that's why I didn't get to try any. LOL

I'm truly glad your Christmas Eve was a joyous one, Carol. You deserve smiles and hugs.

I'm glad you were invited next door for dinner. That helps you not focus on who you are missing.
Looks like a great dessert. I don't do Pinterest--I just let other people search and share with me what they find and love. : )
Thanks for doing so!!

Oh Carol, I'm so glad you had a wonderful Christmas Eve. What a blessing friends like your sweet neighbors are! I also had a wonderful Christmas Day. I was a little worried about how my emotions would be and Christmas Eve, I was a little bit weepy all day because our oldest grandson (24) was not here for the first time since he was born. I know I've told you this, (I think...senior moment here) but this is the grandson that my daughter had when she had just barely turned 16. What started as a bit of a family upset (putting it mildly), turned into a beautiful blessing in disguise as we raised him from the day he was born into adulthood, college and now in Maryland making a career in the Air Force. He was such a joy every moment of every day. Now...Christmas without him...I was sure I would be a blubbering mess all day. But right after we got him on Skype Christmas morning, our house was descended upon by unexpected guests, his mother, his girlfriend and his brother all arrived within minutes of each other. They planned to drop by for a few minutes then hurry on to the next house, but not until much later in the day. So we took the computer and set on the piano bench and shared 4 1/2 hours of Christmas day with him, we watched him open his gifts and vice versa. We got so incredibly silly and laughed till tears rolled so much that my tummy muscles are sore today, LOL. It was completely wonderful. Your post was so joyful, that I had to share mine with you. We both did just fine, didn't we? Big, Big Hugs and God Bless...

CCTV drain survey London are becoming more and more necessary as many mortgage lenders are requiring them prior to the approval of loans. It is also very good practice if you are looking to buy any property if you want to avoid any expensive repair bills for blocked or collapsed drains. Of course leaking drains can cause more than damage to just themselves, permanent damage could also be inflicted on the foundations of the house also.

So glad you enjoyed your holiday Carol! Neighbors like yours are a true blessing.
Your dessert choice looks both extremely yummy and easy to make! Will remember that next year-- I went full out with a 5 layer dessert ( 3 sour cream white cake layers and 2 peppermint cheese cake layers frosted in a white chocolate mousse!). It at least gave us a good laugh on xmas day when it managed to slide off the cake pedestal almost in my poor grandson's pumpkin ice cream! Wish someone thought to photograph that moment! Oh well, I just carefully scooped it up and kept on cutting :-)
Wishing you a very happy New Year, and looking forward to what you have in store come 2013! I know I'm ready to sit and pick up a project....
