I was in Birmingham the first week in June with these fun kids...
Katie had a huge part in running Vacation Bible School and the big kids went with her everyday and enjoy their classes and all the fun activities and Peyton and I stayed home and played. We went for long walks...they forgot to tell me that there are lots of hills in Mountain Brook where they live...I think I was pushing that stroller uphill all the way...no there wasn't any snow, I won't add that embellishment...LOL! But I am a Florida girl and it's FLAT here...so I did get my cardio workout while I was there. We had tons of fun every morning...then the afternoons were full of fun stuff, trips to the library, the park, bike riding...life really just doesn't get much better.
When I got home my list was waiting for me...had to get cracking on those "every month" projects and I'm happy to say that list is complete...
I have all my little squares filled with a purple dot...my other list of extra projects is almost complete...I plan on finishing the Temecula sampler section in the next day or so and then getting the back finished for my Topsy Turvy quilt and then I can pat myself on the back for 3 seconds and move on to the July list. I know lists don't work for lots of you, but this sure has gotten me on track...I feel way less stress, and I just move from one thing to the next without giving it second thought.
Here are a few of my projects for this month...Deckade blocks from the Fat Quarter Shop...
I am so loving this project...a new section out on their blog every other Monday...the directions are perfect and I got the kit to complete the quilt...I'm a happy girl.
And then here are a few of my "every month" projects...

Oh my word - not blogging really suits your sewing style, girlfriend! LOL
You got so MANY blocks done - NO BLOGGING works for you. LOL
Will and Bailey are barking - how's their buddy?
Spending a full week with your Wee Grands was definitely a week well spent. :-) I know they were happy to have Mamie in the house.
Holy Smokes woman, I believe your sewing machine is smokin'. You've been a busy girl and I'm envious. LOL I haven't done much blogging or sewing. Ugh!!! LOL
Can't believe how fast those youngin's are growing. Glad you're staying cool and sewing away. We're looking forward to seeing more.
Oh I don't think your confession requires any penance! Being with grand kids is so wonderful! You inspire me to get back into " lists" making. All of your projects are gorgeous!
Maybe if I did my lists in purple I would stick to them better. : )
No wonder you haven't been blogging--you have been getting real stuff done!!
I love all of your projects--so many of them I would like to do myself. I'll just watch your progress and dream and then when they are finished I will sneak into your house and spirit them away. Yeah, right!
I am a list maker also. Wouldn't be able to get anything done without it.
The kids are adorable...growing so fast.
Love all of your blocks. You've made so many this month. I am also making the FQS's Deck-Ade from their kit. They make it so easy.
Can't wait to see your July progress!
Wow! I'm so jealous of the time you have to sew! Love all your blocks but especially Crossroads, and Four Generals... my kind of projects!
good for you! having too much fun and enjoying the kiddos!
love all your projects--here's to a fun July!
Good for you...The blogging universe is not going anywhere. I enjoy my family and sew before I blog. Gorgeous blocks.
Grandbabies are the BEST excuse in the world. Those days with them go by too fast, and there isn't a more important place to be.
What fun! All the best reasons not to be blogging. All your projects look so fun. I'm really enamored with the Deckade project!
Oh, and I live by lists. I might try your layout because my quilt list is starting to feel overwhelming.
Well I reckon that having fun (specially with family or a sewing machine) should always come before blogging.
What cuties your grand babies are and much more fun than blogging! Lol
Sometimes lists work for me and sometimes, not so much!
Good job on staying current with your projects :)
WOW!!!!
Look how much you accomplished even after having a wonderful week with those cuties. I love all of your projects.
I guess it is time to make my July list. I have too many things I want to work on.
I love lists -- and they definitely work for you. Glad you had a great time with the babies -- that's the most important thing!
That crossroads block is my favorite.
I use lists everywhere but with my hobbies. Maybe I should give it a try? You've certainly accomplished a lot within a very busy month!
So, THAT's the secret! Stop blogging and spend time with precious grandchildren! I think you have figured out how to live a life well-lived! And look at all of the progress you have made on your sewing projects! Happy you checked in with us!
