You are Here

I was here...

But that was over a month ago..  I've gotten emails and notes asking where in the world I've been...some have sent out all points bulletins looking for me...I've been right here...

and having lots of fun.  I truly have been spending lots less time on the computer...I was wasting a crazy amount of time on the computer, playing games, dang Candy Crush and Words with Friends...I have given it up...NO MORE GAMES!  So because of less computer time I've been stitching and started cross stitching again and I'm loving every minute of it.  I've been working on this block of Winter Wonderland for several months...

amazing lots less computer time and this one is done...ready for another block.

I've also been piecing away...You may remember back in July I started putting the Country Threads Anniversary quilt together...I had it all cut out and broke it up into sections...I just finished piecing it this past weekend...and I am beyond thrilled...

this pic isn't the best...I promise those green stars in the border aren't that bright...they are a beautiful reproduction green...I have no clue!  Now I need to make a back and off to the quilter...I'll share it again when it's bound and washed.

I'm also working on 2 baby quilts...a dear, dear friend's daughter is having her first baby in July...we have been friends for close to 30 years and I knew Anna before she was born so of course she must have a quilt...and my dear friend needs a Grandma quilt.  I wanted to do 30's and I wanted them to be very, very scrappy...so I sent out a plea to some friends for their small leftover pieces of 30's fabrics...I got the most wonderful packages...here is the beginning of the first one...
I'll be back with the beginning of the second one.

I've also been doing some cleaning and purging again

and will take pictures and have this all on my other blog in a day or so.  There are some treasures in this bin!

I will be back!  Hopefully I won't be gone so long...

Glad you are blogging again and quilting and enjoying life! I remember the Country Living quilt from your blog. I believe you bought the kit? Will have to find the pattern and make from stash. Take care!

I knew you were still alive, because you had commented on my blog, but wondered about your blogging. : )
Oh, those games can be a nasty trap. I was in one once many years ago. Glad to be out!!
Your stitching is so cute. Aren't you pleased?
And what a lovely quilt!
Thirties fabrics make great baby quilts. Can't wait to see what you are cooking up (or sewing up).

Backing away from the computer isn't a bad thing - it kind of sucks you in! It's great to get a lot done. I need to do the same if I'm honest with myself!

Good for you! I've been spending more time stitching and less time on the computer, too. Have fun!

Okay, Carol. I have to know how you quit Candy Crush! I want to quit but it just keeps calling me back. I know I could get so much done if I'd just leave it alone! :)
I love the way your baby quilt is turning out. Thirties fabrics are perfect for a cheerful baby quilt!

Happy to hear you are doing well - the computer can be a blessing and a curse. I love all the wonderful projects I see - like yours - but oh how the time flies. Looking at this and that and maybe a quick game and then the day is gone. Time spent sewing and stitching just makes a body feel good. Have fun with all your projects!
