That's what they call the professionals...Mr. Brown Quilts and I certainly aren't professionals but we sure did a whole lot of trimming on the oak trees in our yard. These trees were planted 5-1/2 years ago...we've trimmed them every year since we've been here but this year they really needed some serious cutting. This is the 3rd time we've worked on these this year...the homeowner's association decided that all trees needed to be 12 feet above the sidewalk...we had some branches lower than that and until yesterday didn't have the equipment we needed to do the job. Mr. Brown Quilts headed out yesterday morning at 7:30 to pick up the chain saw from the rental place. OMG, he had way to much power in his hands! But it sure made quick work of cutting! We cut for 2-1/2 hours and the side yard was full of branches...this is 1/2 of the yard....then we had to cut them up and tie them up into bundles that the yard waste guys can take away on Wednesday...2 more hours of that...then we had to haul all the bundles up behind the house just to haul them to the curb on Wednesday. So needless to say there was no sewing yesterday...I was so tired and so sore that I couldn't even make it upstairs.
Today was much better...I spent the afternoon working on Camden's little Short Story Schnibble, go about half the blocks done.
I told Mr. Brown Quilts today that I was made to be a sewer/quilter not an arborist!

You're a brave girl - no tree trimming for this girl. LOL
I'm glad you're sewing today. :-)
Our husbands consider us women of great strength. I've moved refrigerators, pushed cars...you name it. I want to retire from Wonder Woman. :o)
Oh my! that is a lot of work in this heat! Glad you got to rest and do some sewing today...you earned it.
Its hard work isnt it! I've been doing something similar, and the arms ache for days after...
Reward yourself with some sewing time :-)
a day in the sewing room today was well deserved!
hope you relaxed a bit and aren't too sore from all that work yesterday.
I would have called the tree dr!
Kathie
That's a LOT of work! I remember when we lost our Russian Olive trees to an ice storm, dh and my brother were out there for two days, cutting everything up. Won't get me out there, nope, no way....I hope your muscles are feeling better now!
It sure looks nice though! Great job!!
Whew, that's done and it looks marvelous, back to the important stuff, sewing.
I'm sure glad Mr. Brown Quilts gave you the day off so you could get back to the very important work - LOL. And I've no doubt the yard looks lovely after all of that trimming and toting.
Cripes that sounds like hard work!
Yard work is a lot of WORK! Glad that job's over for you and you're happily back in the sewing room!
Getting older and doing yardwork don't go hand in hand. I've found that out a lot lately! But isn't it great instant gratification at the end of the day?!
Yeah - got that out of the way. Let the REAL fun begin.
I was picking up trimmings this morning from hubby's yard work done yesterday.
But I made quick work of it so I could sew this afternoon.
And I had the much needed Chocolate to help me along.
I think you've done a weeks worth of excercise in a day. You so deserved your sewing time and now the trees are done.
Wow that really is hard work , it looks such a lovely place .
I feel for you doing any kind of yard work in that heat!!!
