Home and Happy

I'm home and I'm very happy to be here...the beach was really good...I found so much peace there that I can't even begin to explain.  It truly was amazing and I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that mom is with me every single day.  I still miss her, I still think I need to pick up the phone and call her but I am full of peace.  All is well...

Saturday evening we went to dinner at Mom's very favorite place, and after dinner went to a wonderful spot on the beach and spread her ashes...just the way she wanted.  It was a perfect evening...no wind at all and the nicest waves...that's when the peace came over me.  She was happy...Sunday morning we walked out on the beach about 7 and for the first time in the 30 plus years of going to the very same spot, there was a rainbow in the sky
...right in the spot where we watch the sun set every evening...Mom's favorite thing...All is well...

Tuesday evening I went down to the beach for the sunset...the sky sure didn't look like it was going to cooperate...it had rained on and off all day...I sat down and started thinking how this was my last evening there and the last sunset I would get to see this year...all of a sudden, like it was from a movie the most wonderful light show appeared...not the normal fireball fading into the Gulf...just the most beautiful cloud formations
and light reflections
I have ever seen....it went on...
and on...
and on...
All is well...

Thank you all so very much for you kind words before I left...those notes mean more to me than you will ever know.  I'll be back tomorrow with some fun pictures from our visit to Washington DC last weekend for our friend's daughter's wedding...have a fantastic evening!

Carol, your blog is so dear and inspirational..I know you must miss your precious mom so much. Isn't it wonderful how God assures us through these times of peace, that our loved ones are with Him, and all is well. Life is so short, we will all be reunited with our loved ones soon..

Beautiful pictures Carol. I know how much you miss your Mom. It's really something that doesn't go away, but in time, it will get a little easier. You have to get through all the firsts (first holidays, first birthday, first anniversary of her passing). Take care.

What sweet moments to treasure along with the memories of times with your Mom in this same place. Like signs from heaven--the beautiful rainbow and gorgeous sunset indicate that your Mom is still a part of your life. There is only one source for that peace you feel. I'm glad you are so blessed.

What a beautiful inspirational posting. I miss my Mom every day. We used to do this silly thing. Whenever I got home from her house which was 30 miles away and phone calls cost a bit more then. I would call her and let the phone ring once. Then hang up to save the phone charges. When she left our house she would do the same. Every once in a while, and I know it's a bit strange. The phone will ring once---and then not another ring. I like to think it's my Mom checking in. She got home safe. Your pictures are beautiful, and I'm so glad you have a peaceful rejuvenating time at the beach. Take care.

My mom passed about a15 years ago. I still miss her like crazy. I still have things happen where I think " I should call mom". But the peace of God which passes understanding. Is always there with me. Great post May that peace follow you all of our life.

Your photos are amazing. It is calming just to look at them. I know what you mean about your Mom. I lost mine six years ago and I still start to pick up the phone to call her. It is easier as time goes by. I so enjoy my memories of her. Hugs

Thanks for sharing those awesome pictures. They should be in a scrapbook for a permanent memory.

How amazing that the rainbow appeared as if a direct message from your mother that all is well. I'm so glad that you were able to find peace during your time at the beach :)
