I was Gone, I'm Back, I'm Gone in the Morning, I'll be back and Gone again...

That just says it all...we were in Birmingham last weekend for Peyton's baptism
...what a wonderful, wonderful weekend.  Lots of good time with the kids...
...big and small.  Nothing beats family time.
Life is good.

Andy and I leave in the morning for the beach...I've been having some real mixed feelings about this...this will be the first time in probably close to 35 years that mom hasn't been with me for this annual trip.  I've cried, I've had pep talks with myself, I've gotten sage advice from a very dear friend, my sweet DIL keeps checking on me, and my Andy is here supporting me every step of the way.  I think I'm going to be OK.  I started packing yesterday, made it through that.  I've gathered enough sewing projects to keep me busy for 4 weeks (I'll be back home Wednesday) and my Kindle is full.  Andy will be going with me tomorrow and he's coming home Monday and I'll stay a couple of days.  Then I get back and Thursday morning we leave for Washington DC for a friend's daughter's wedding...home Monday.  The boys are so confused...suitcases in and out...and the revolving door of pet/house sitters.  I'm thinking by the time we get home from Washington they won't even look at us...LOL!

I had breakfast/lunch with a good friend on Wednesday...Gloria, she used to own The Olde Green Cupboard up in Jacksonville, FL.  I haven't seen her in several years...but it was like we had visited the day before...we never missed a beat.  Laughed and talked while we sat in Panera in Palm Coast, half way between the two of us, through the breakfast shift and the lunch shift.  It was yummy!  Thanks Glo for a really fun day...we'll do it again soon.  Although I maybe shouldn't be talking to you anymore, since you hooked me up on Pinterest.  OH MY!  I swore I would NEVER do that...you guessed it...I'm in...hook, line and sinker...pinning, boards, sitting on the couch with the computer in my lap.  What was I thinking...just kidding...I'm loving it...I had no idea what I was missing.

Have a great weekend everyone...I'll try to get a post off from the beach...we'll see how that goes.

The little people are getting sooooo big. And, so stinkin' cute, too. Their mom and dad are a handsome couple. :-)

You know my thoughts will be with you while you spend time at the beach.

You have been a busy woman! What a good looking family.
Enjoy the beach--your Mom would want you to! Memories of her presence on past trips may be tender, but you are blessed to have those good memories, as I know you already know.

All this time I've been reading your blog and I had no idea you and Gloria were friends. The OGC was my quilt shop and I try and go to Gloria's retreats. I think I've only missed one. She is a real sweetie and her sister is too!

You have such a busy yet fun schedule of events. Your mom would want you to enjoy the beach and what a great opportunity to really just sit and be...and enjoy fond memories. We can't live in the past...please don't dwell on it but embrace it!

Goodness those youngsters look so busy they could almost fly, LOL. Such fun ages, but exhausting. Hope your trip to the beach is a restful one. Mom would want that for you.

Oh Carol, sending you Big Hugs...remember, your mom is with you every where you go, she's right there in your heart. Besides, you know she will be looking down on you at the beach, all the while thinking, am I glad I'm up here now, where everything is beautiful and the temperature is always perfect and I don't need any sunscreen!!! *wink* Enjoy sweet friend, you deserve it. Here's one more hug for the road...
Hugzzzzzzz

You will be in my thoughts and prayers for a wonderful, safe trip. And when you go to DC, wave at Andrews AFB for me, would ya? My grandson is there in the Air Force. He won't see you, as he works in a secured bunker underground, but after all, it's the thought that counts, right??? LOL

Oh Carol, your mom will be with you in spirit on your trip to the beach. I went on my annual trip to New Mexico a couple of weeks ago and I felt my mom with me the whole time. {{hugs}}

So much to do! Have fun, enjoy, remember what times your Mother was there with you!
However, I sadly have to say that after my Mom being gone 8 years I still cannot bring myself to go to our local craft fair that they hold on Mother's day weekend. That was something special I did with my Mom every year...
