Back to Nature

I just realized that it's been a week since I posted...oh my...I feel like it was just a day or two ago...here we are in the middle of August...I can finally write 2012 without thinking about it and it's going to be 2013 before we blink...where oh where is this year going?

We've had some bird visitors back...this one was hanging around down by the pond behind our house yesterday looking for lunch...
I love how I got his reflection in the picture...one might think I really meant to do that and got a pretty good picture...truth is, it was a pure happy accident.

This guy flew in and landed in the top of one of the cypress trees down by the pond
...he stayed there for a long time surveying the whole area...I have no idea what he is...anyone know?

I've been working on a project that is very special to me...here's a snippet of it
...I'll share the whole thing when I finish it and I'll tell you the story.

I'll try to get back sooner...I better keep a better eye on the calendar!

Love your new project!

Beautiful critters in your neighborhood. We have quail & cute bunnies. Hanging around are the coyotes looking to munch on the quail and bunnies. LOL

It looks like you have a beautiful habitat right where you live. So fun to see birds and other animals up close like that.

Can't wait to see your surprise project.

Can't wait to see your whole quilt! Hope you are enjoying the wildlife. We have tons of hummingbirds this year - we think about 18 of them, but they are nearly impossible to count. I love watching them.

Gorgeous bird visitors. Is the bird in the tree a member of the falcon family I wonder? The fabrics in your special quilt are so soft and pretty.

Could it be a hawk? Dolly and I are looking forward to seeing more of your new project.

Well, I don't know birds either, really but the second bird does look like a hawk to me. The first pic looks like our heron...I wondered where he was :-)

I love your nature photos, Carol! I would have thought you planned the reflection shot -- you shouldn't have told. ;) Somehow I missed that you have a pond in your yard---lots of wonderful nature scenes and critters around water. :) It's been OVER a week since I posted, and I'm going to, maybe tonight. :/ Things have been so hectic around here; I personally am ready for Summer of 2012 to fade into Autumn of 2012. :)
