May 31st...Really???

I'm thinking that I'm starting to sound like a record with my needle stuck...where has the month gone?  Is May really over?  Every time I think I'm going to get back to blogging on a more regular basis, the days just plain disappear.  I'm sounding more like my mom every day...I just can't figure out how I had time to work for all those years...LOL!
I've been sewing fast so I could get my list finished for the month of May...

and I did add another project for the monthly list...the Deck-ade the Halls quilt from the Fat Quarter Shop...I just couldn't resist...the first clue came out on their blog this week and since my fabric had arrived from them and I was ready to go I jumped right on it.  What fun!  The pattern was PERFECT!  The fabric is wonderful and I think these gingerbread men are just about the cutest.

If you've been thinking about this project and just can't make up your mind...you sure won't be disappointed...this is going to be one darling quilt and lots of fun!  A WIN! WIN!

I have a really good excuse for being away for another week...I'm leaving in the morning to go see the kids...Katie is in charge of Bible School and the big kids will be going...Peyton and I will be staying home doing fun stuff...I'll be back a week from tomorrow in the late evening...Howie and Mr. QuiltHolder will be here taking care of each other.  I'll try to check in while I'm gone...have a great week!

I couldn't resist either, but I'm using stash, so mine will be hopefully as cute. Your guys look great, I had to do some ripping, but all is well now, and all in all, they were easier to make than I feared. This will be a fun one.

I know exactly what you're saying about time flying. It's unreal how fast it goes in retirement. Someone once told me that it's because you are only doing things that you WANT to do so everyday is enjoyable. Makes sense to me. Have a great time with the kiddos. I get to see mine in a couple of weeks.

Crazy isn't it. Somehow I've only managed to finish one quilt this year!

Oh I see the teacher in you -- making a list and checking it twice. Maybe I should try that. Meanwhile I'm off to check out the FQ shop blog for this cute pattern. Because I NEED another project!

I was alerted to the patterns just earlier today. It is a cute pattern.

I remember all the times I heard retired people say they didn't have time to do all the things they want to do. There was lots I planned on doing and there just isn't time to do it all.

I'm making that quilt too! Just finished my little men and I agree, the instructions are wonderful! I'm using Christmas Fun by Lynette Anderson for Lecien as my fabric. I posted my men to the flickr group.
Have fun on your trip!

have a great time with the kids!!!
I'm right with you on the time flying thing-starting to think there is a problem with the space time continuum (I learned that in one of the Back to the Future movies)not enough hours in the day.
It's good to see you popping in tho' even occasionally. :)

I'm right there with you in seeing May flash before my eyes! I saw that BOM too and thought how cute! It is fun to see your on it! I'm saving the patterns in hopes of finding time to work it up into homespun sort of look...maybe a bit of wool. I don't know yet...just know I'm liking it! Have a great weekend!

Love your gingerbread men! I have a fondness for them regardless, but those are particularly cute! So much fun to see all the cute things you have going!
Time is not on my side anymore either.I say let it fly. We can't stop it anyway so maybe the trick is to not care!
