Tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiime Is Not On My Side....

Are you singing again...but the words really were...Tiiiiiiiiime is on my side...Yes it is!... Yes I'm old...if you don't remember this one, you're probably much younger...The Rolling Stones/ Mid 1960's...yes, I told you I'm old...LOL!

Well really not just regular time...but sewing time...but don't feel sorry for me.  I've mostly been having fun.  I was up in Birmingham visiting these fun kids...
Camden wanted me to come for her first ever dance recital...
how could I not go.  It was soooooooooo much fun.

I got home and pulled out my list and started right to work...Four Generals...
Temecula Quilt Company Civil War Diaries...
Lori Holt's Barn
I've also been working on my Fat Quarter Shop Mystery BOM...the final block arrived in my mailbox on Friday, got it done on Saturday.  I had the rows all together and ready for this last block.  Then I started getting the borders on...my plan is to get the last borders on today...we'll see how that goes.

I went to Pilates this morning at 7:30 came home and had a little breakfast...as I arrived home Andy was in the garage putting his shoes on and said..."I'm going to do a little trimming on the oak trees in the side yard."  I thought, OK, we had talked about a few things that needed to be trimmed off with his long extension pole trimmer...silly me...here's what I found when I went outside...

please remember this man is 64 years old...and has had a total knee replacement...up in the tree...foot here, foot there...and I wonder why Time is not on my side!  LOL!  I spent the rest of the morning out there with him.  Oh My!  I'm in for the afternoon...and so is he!

Glad you have been spending time with all those cuties! And ugh! My husband does things like that, but he takes the chain saw! Drives me crazy!

Carol, I think you've been busy doing some wonderful, wonderful things! Oh the precious memories being made with those adorable grandchildren!

Your quilt blocks are always stellar!

Yikes!! No wonder you stayed outside with him. You had to be there to catch him if he lost balance. LOL

Your babies are adorable and I don't blame you for wanting to be with them as much as possible.

Love, love your blocks. I got my mystery block in the mail so my plan is to get that done this weekend.

Oh my word - next time he "trims a tree", I'll lay odds you're outside immediately. Did he trim the "right" limb?
I bet you thoroughly enjoyed the recital! Cannot get enough time with the grandkids. How long does it take for you to get there, Carol? Memories - it's what the grandkids will have. And you're creating wonderful ones!
Great looking blocks, Carol. Your work is always spot-on. I'm a fan....always.

my step-granddaughter's first recital is end of month--looking forward to it! Tiiiime is not on my side either, blogging time has slipped, but I am not complaining busy doing good things...climbing trees is not one of them. But good for Andy. Maybe he shouldn't see the new Superman movie that's coming out soon, might give him ideas ;) have fun sewing when you have the tiiiiiime!

What a fun age that little dancer is. I had a niece that was in her first dance recital at about that same age. In the middle of the dance she walked to the edge of the stage, peered into the darkened audience and yelled, "Mom, it's not fun!" Apparently she hadn't wanted to be in the recital and her mother had convinced her that it would be fun.
When I think of the lyric "Time is on my side" I think of David Gates and Bread with the song "It Don't Matter to Me". I guess that dates me.
Looks like you have accomplished plenty with what time you have had!
Last month I caught my 89-year-old father trying to pull a similar stunt in his apple tree. We had him down and my DH in his place in no time. And I stayed close by. : )

Those lyrics must be in quite a few songs because the song I thought of was sung by Hootie and the Blowfish!
I love everyone of your blocks... we would do well together in the same quilt shop! :)
This year I will watch my 10 year old granddaughter in her 6th dance recital, and my 4 year old granddaughter in her very first recital! So much fun!
Grown men in trees... not always a good combination! He sure looks determined in the picture!

What a fun trip :-) Such a cute dancer!! I hope you don't have many more trees. That would be tricky work for anyone! My guess is "boys" will always find any reason to climb a tree, at any age LOL :-)

Wow -- that's impressive -- most men won't climb trees at half his age!

I can't believe how your babies are growing! Looks like you had a wonderful visit!

Guess you can't keep a good man down. :) I'm married to one like that.
Time with the grandkids is always time well spent, but I don't have to tell you that. They will have fond memories of your adventures together! You're stitching up some pretty blocks - I'm having a hard time not making those barn blocks.

The kids are adorable. I can't get over how big Hampton is getting. Wow!

Lots of productivity going on at your house. Wow!

Tell Andy you have sewing to do so you won't be available if he falls and breaks something. LOL I was a bit impressed that he climbed the tree. Wow!

Those grand kids are adorable. Husband story made me laugh...only because he isn't mine to worry about. Good grief.
