While I was cleaning in the kitchen this morning I kept hearing a cardinal chirping...I went to the window and this beautiful fella was just sitting on my bare crepe myrtle singing away...I ran and got the camera and fully expected he would be gone...he waited for me...
He then flew to the crepe myrtle at the other side of the back deck...he kept sitting there singing, tipping his head and almost moving so I would keep taking his picture...I think he knew he was a star today!
This beautiful guy sure made my day! I could have watched him all morning...but then I heard another chirp and off he flew...someone was calling him.
I can't think of a better way to start this new year...enjoying such beauty. Happy New Year!

Great Photos... Nature creates some great snapshots..
Great photos. I would have also stood there and watched till he flew away. Wish we had cardinals in our neck of the country. Happy New Year Carol!
He was definitely there to visit YOU. Such a beauty, too.
He's beautiful. We don't have cardinals out here.
Happy New Year.

Cardinals are the mascot for our Arizona football team. Their logo is everywhere! Beautiful photographs.
Beautiful visitor....Happy New Year!
I would love to see one in 'real' life.
Happy New Year!
Fabulous way to start your day. He is surely beautiful.
What a treat! I've never lived where there are cardinals. Just bluejays. That cardinal red is one of my favorite colors.
I'm catching up on some older blog posts. I love cardinals! Thank you so much for these great pictures. We don't see cardinals around where I live and lately with the drought about all I see is crows. Silly birds about flew off with my bird feeders!
I love cardinals also. They are so beautiful. And I too recognize the chirping of a cardinal in my yard. My nieces think I'm nuts.
