The Groundhog Saw His Shadow

Now you may say, well Carol that happened on Saturday...this is old news...yup! but guess what...we think the Groundhog got a little confused this year. 6 more weeks of winter...it was 84 degrees here today and is supposed to be this way through Wednesday...then it's going to cool off...all the way to 79 degrees. OMG! This is just crazy...the weather guy just said this is like the second week in April...I thought it was February. This is crazy weather...hope something happens and it cools off a little again or this is going to be a VERY long summer.
With the very warm spring like weather we're having crazy pollen counts...my allergies have been nuts but my poor Zack is just pitiful. He has allergies to this spring time pollen...he has licked and licked and licked his feet. He gets almost frantic...I went to see our friend at Bark Avenue, a dog bakery and speciality shop and Chris gave us an all natural, soothing skin formula to rub on him. Andy rubbed it into the pads on his feet and it worked...she also told us to get him some booties...so off to Pet Smart we went and got him these booties to wear when he goes outside to keep the pollen off his feet.
Could he be anymore pathetic looking? He hates the booties but if it helps he's going to have to get used to them.

I forgot to tell you about the wonderful soup that I made thanks to Kim...it couldn't have been yummier or easier.Check Kim's archives in January for the recipe. Kim is the soup queen...I saw she had a Clam Chowder recipe on her blog today. I'm going to give it a try.

Not much sewing going on here today...I have no idea what happened. We went to the gym, ran some errands and I came home pooped. Tomorrow will be better. I have my Hometown Christmas section (the last one from last month) all ready to sew and then I'll cut this month's and I'll finally be caught up.

Have a great evening everyone.

81 here today, simply beautiful! And so nuts LOL...Dh and I enjoyed the day so much!

I bet Zack gets used to his boots, our first boxer Major had to wear boots, he got used to them very quickly...he got to where he didn't pay them any attention at all.

OMG ROFLMAO!!!!!!!! Those are sooooooo funny. I know poor Zach isn't laughing but honestly Carol, they are soooo funny. He looks pathetic lying there on the floor. I could just see if I tried to lasso Madeline down to the ground and put those on her. YOU know how she would act. Like a crazed women.

Oh poor Zach, I know he probably hates those booties. You have been such a productive little gal today. I am hoping things calm down here by the middle of the week.

Your heatwave is amazing, if I may say so! Poor Zack - his little botties are adorable, and if they do the trick, I hope he can get used to them very soon.
Your soup looks delicious, and Kim will be delighted to know you've made and enjoyed her recipe.
I'm really pleased you are almost caught up with the Hometown Christmas project, too! Good for you, Carol!

Awww, poor little Zack. He looks so cute though. We're having REALLY goofy weather here too. Went to bed last night with 4 inches of snow on the ground -- had hellacious thunderstorms all night and this morning all the snow is gone. That's a FAST melt!

The "Soup Queen"?! I'll have to change the name of my blog to "Kim's Big Soupy Quilting Adventure"! Before you know it, I'll turn into a cooking blog! ROFLOL! Seriously, though, I'm glad you like it! It's one of those recipes where you can just keep all the ingredients handy in the pantry for those days you don't want to put much time into cooking. Like every day! LMAO! But I'm guessing with your temps, you're not going to feel much like soup for now!

Oh I just want to give that sweet Zack a big hug. I'm sure he's not digging wearing them, but I'm sure he feels better and doesn't know that those booties are part of the answer.

Hugs - Karen

Oh my poor Zach...he don't look too happy with the booties. But like you said if it helps then he'll be much better.

I'm off to check out that soup...I love soup.
