From Glad to Sad

You know how excited I was the other day...well that's just how sad I am tonight. Josh called about an hour ago...they all have the nasty krud...he sounded awful...so they aren't coming. Very sad...sad that they are so sick and sad that they aren't coming to see us. We told him not to push it, that there would be another time for them to come, just about killed me to say that, but I knew they shouldn't be traveling...not good for them and so far we've been pretty lucky, no krud here, Andy had a cold a while back but nothing bad...and mom's been great this flus season, and we sure don't want her to get anything...so my house is sparkly clean and the pantry's full...anyone want to come visit.

I worked on my Web Sampler today...got another block sewn and all of the rest cut out,

except for the block from Quakertown Quilts...it hasn't arrived yet.

I also made 2 more Civil War Diary Quilt blocks
These little blocks are so darn much fun to do...I haven't done any hard ones yet but I'll get to them. I have 4 more ready to cut out in the morning...maybe I'll get them sewn tomorrow. Check out the webring to see what the other gals are doing.

I worked on my Sister's Choice blocks for my swap with Jeanne (No Home Computer) and Karen...I've also got lots of block parts cut out and ready to take to my retreat next Sunday.

So a lot of sewing was done here today...which is always a good thing. Keeps my mind busy and off being sad. Hope everyone had a great Sunday. I need to close for tonight because Big Brother is coming on. Oh, now I've told you one of my deep dar secrets...LOL!

Oh no. I know just how happy you were and excited. It's best but it sure doesn't make you feel any less sad! Hey, Me too...I would come in a heart beat if you were only a state away! Hey I think they have a $99 special to Orlando LOL!!!

Still love those Web sampler blocks. LOVING making these CW blocks too. Oh the stripe is perfect!

Bummer - but all better in the long run for them to cancel, get better and not share the crud *yuck*

Bummer about your special visitors but nice of them to keep the krud away from you. Love your blocks. I tried one CW block that was a bit tougher but still forgiving - I am going to try and do as many as possible using my rotary cutter tools.

Carol, so sorry that the kids aren't coming but it is a good thing yhey decided to stay at home. That krud is really terrible this year because if you don't knock it the first time and take care it comes back real fast. I should know Joe who is never sick has had it 3 times this winter. Hopefully, then can come for Easter.

Oh Carol, I'm so sorry. I know how much you were looking forward to their visit. Will there be another chance for them to come visit later on I hope?

I see you did a lot of sewing, gorgeous stuff!

Gosh, that is such a shame about your kids not coming. And you did all that cleaning for nothing, lol. That should give you a whole uninterrupted week to sew I would think. Don't tempt me into Civil War blocks, I have plenty of that type of fabric waiting patiently, lol.

Since the pantry is full, then I'll come to visit. K? teehee

Oh, poor Carol! At least your house is sparkly clean and you have a few quilt projects to keep you occupied. I hope your family recovers from the crud quickly and can reschedule another time to visit with you soon!

Oh, Carol, I am so very sorry! It is better for them that they don't come, but I truly understand your disappointment. I'm still with the kids, and everyone is sick here, so I may be bringing a little something extra with me when I go home tomorrow!
I'm glad you're keeping busy with all of your lovely projects - it does help the heart heal bit by bit, doesn't it? Take care! Hugs, Nan

Sorry your family is sick. I know you were excited to have company. Your work is beautiful. I find too that if I cut everything ahead of time, you really can get alot of sewing done at a retreat. Cheer up.

I'm so sorry the kids aren't able to come after all. I know how disappointed you must be! Obviously you chose to bury yourself in fabric - I can't believe how much you were able to accomplish!

So sorry about the visit. I know how hard that is. But truly, take it from someone who just experienced the "krud", you definitely don't want it! Hopefully they can reschedule soon when everyone is healthy.

Oh boy Carol I'm so sorry for both your kids being sick and then not being able to come visit. I know how much you were looking forward to it and how prepared you really were, LOL. Hopefully they will feel better soon and that visit can be rescheduled. Looks like you got lots done though on a happier note.
