We got back late Thursday afternoon...our plane was on time, but we got in right as a thunderstorm was rolling in. Lightning off in the distance, so we sat on the tarmac for almost 50 minutes...it sure wasn't as bad as it could have been, but being that close to being home, I just wanted off that plane...there were 5 Southwest planes all at the gates at the same time...luggage coming off...they did a fantastic job of getting the bags off the plane and on to the belt...it was good to get home. We had a great trip...good visits with family and friends. We flew into Pittsburgh on Saturday, got our rental car and headed to our friends in Greenville...we stopped in the little town of Mercer at a quilt shop...The Gallery...the lady that owned the shop was very nice...and I found a few treasures that had to come home with me. We had such a great time with our friends, the retirement party was just wonderful. Monday morning we headed for a visit with Andy's brothers in Clearfield, but on the way we stopped in a quilt shop in Finleyville just outside Pittsburgh...Quilter's Corner...a very, very nice shop and the two gals that were working were just as nice as they could be. Unfortunately, I had limited time...we needed to get back on the road and get to Andy's brother's house, but I spent about an hour in the shop and enjoyed every minute of it. They have a real mix of fabrics, I concentrated on the Civil War repros and the 30's fabrics...much fun was had.
I'll be back tomorrow with a yummy, yummy cake that my sister in law made...I could easily eat the whole thing!
