After teaching for 24 years and then fulfilling my dream of having a quilt shop, I retired the end of August 2007. Having the shop for almost 8 years was wonderful...I had a great time, met lots of people that I am happy to call friends, but the time came to retire. Andy retired in April, so the time was right. I'm loving spending time with him and getting to go see my 2 grandsons, granddaughter, son and daughter-in-law whenever I want. And I get to SEW!
Jami was welcomed into heaven last evening at 7:00...I just know that heaven is a happier place today...I'll bet she's already teaching a group of ladies how to quilt.
Oh Carol, I'm not sure if my heart fell --- or leaped ---when I saw your Post heading. I am so excited for her...and I'm so sad for all of you who love her and will miss her being there 'in person'. She will always be there, by your sides, in spirit. Sending you hugs and shared tears...
I'm sure she was welcomed with open arms! She has been a blessing in the lives of so many--as you well know. Through the sorrow we can be grateful for the blessing of knowing such angels while they make earth their abode. Thanks for sharing her with us.
Carol, I know the Angels are rejoicing! But though that and the fact she is no longer in pain, may offer you some comfort, I know it doesn't ease the pain of your loss. I'm so sorry my sweet friend. You, along with Jami's family will be in my thoughts and prayers, along with your mom. Thank you Carol for sharing Jami's sweetness with us. It is a gift I will always hold dear. Tender hugs... ***Jami is most likely not only teaching the ladies how to quilt, she probably has them organizing a Heavenly 'Guild' already!!! Hugs...
Such sad news again today. I know that you made the last few weeks of Jami's life happier by sending the troops in to help her fulfill her final goal for soldiers. The world needs more giving, kind and thoughtful women like her. She will be missed. And I agree wholeheartedly with Stitched With a Prayer's comment - no doubt the Heaven's Gate Guild is already recruiting up there!!
I am so sorry you have lost a dear friend, but as a dear friend, I know you are thankful her struggle is over. May God give you comfort and peace during this time of loss.
Dearest Carol - I am so sorry for your loss!! Jami was an amazing woman with so much love to offer. Heavenly Father must have needed her to spread some of that love around heaven. She will be missed!! Prayers for you and her family!! Kris
I know you'll miss your friend terribly but I like that she will probably be in heaven teaching others to quilt. I'm so happy that we made her goal of pillowcases.
Sorry to hear about your friend, yet I am certain you are glad to know she is no longer suffering. As other's have already said, there is probably a new sewing circle in heaven today. Regards and hugs for you.
Carol- it's been a hard week for you. Know that God does love you and he will uphold you! Quilting in heaven sounds so cool! No worries about lighting or sleep! :-) Keep on hoping- K-

"She got her wings", reminds me of It's A Wonderful Life, my favorite Christmas story of all time. I'll think of Jami every time I hear the angel bells tinkle this holiday season. Sorry for this loss, Carol.
I've been wondering about her and how she was doing. I'm so sorry that you lost your friend, and yet heaven has her now and like you said she's probably teaching them how to quilt. You will meet her again one day. She did so much good while on earth. A big hug your way and prayers for her family.

I'll be keeping she and her family in my thoughts and prayers. I'm also sending you and your family, specially your Mom, warm thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
Sincere sympathy to you and to Jami's family and other friends. How many of us will be able to truly say that we made a difference in people's lives? Jami did. She made a huge difference, and we're all better for having had even this simple long-distance connection with her, whether reading about her or making pillowcases for her. Yes, she has wings.
Oh Carol! I am so sorry to hear of Jami's passing yet I can't help but think of the messege I sent you a while ago. Don't you know that they are celebrating in heaven and cheering, 'She's here!'. I know that your friendship was a blessing to your amazing friend and I pray that God grant you comfort during these difficult days.
Carol, you have been in my thoughts and I will be cooking most of the day tomorrow so I wanted to stop by and tell you that I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Keeping you in my prayers. Hugs...
