Who Knew I Could Have So Much Fun?

If someone had told me several months ago that I would be back in my sewing room truly enjoying my time there and just plain having a blast I would have said "I really don't think so"...I just wasn't having any fun...I think I had too much time to think when I was upstairs by myself...I just didn't enjoy it...but after my trip to the beach everything just fell into place...that peace I told you about...I'm back sewing again and loving it.  A huge thank you to those of you that told me to be patient with myself...you will never know what your support has meant to me.  I've said it before...My Blogland Friends are Amazing!

My dear, dear friend Darlene e-mailed a week or so ago and asked me if I had seen the patterns by Sweet Jane...she gave me the link and told me to go take a look.  I was immediately in love with several patterns.  After a couple e-mails back and forth we agreed on quite a few patterns that we LOVED...ordered the PDF's...and decided we were going to sew one of them together...Darlene picked our first one...Tumbling Nine Patch...and we were off...cutting, visiting, laughing, sewing together...now the time difference tries to interfere, but we didn't let that bother us.  We sewed last weekend and by Monday my top was done.  Here's my Tumbling Nine Patch using Costume Clubhouse fabric by Riley Blake...
I think Hampton and Camden will love it...Peyton will enjoy it too.

Thank you Darlene for finding these fun patterns and for coming up with this fun idea to sew together...I'm ready to do it again!  But most of all thank you for checking on me, supporting me and being YOU...My Friend.  I'm a very lucky girl!

Oh this is adorable! I think we all have those down periods and then something cute comes along and we are sewing again. We just need to charge from time to time. Have a great weekend!

It took me a long, long time to get past my mother passing away. Understandable that your mother passing would affect you in many ways. Glad to know that things are getting better for you.

Yep, I think that Darlene is a sweetheart - she's a keeper! I am so happy to hear that you are finding joy in your stitching again! Y'all chose a darling pattern. It's hard to chose from that selection and I'll bet the little ones will be fighting over this one - it's super great in those fabrics!

What a cute quilt Carol - I'm glad your excitement for stitching has returned - as always I find inspiration from your blog. Give the boys a hug - I love when you post pics of them.

Carol, this is great news! I love your quilt.

I was thinking about you today as I pulled fabrics for the new BOW by Barbara Brackman, about Women's Suffrage. I'm using what I had originally planned for Dust Bunnies, the BOM at Good Homes in your last year. I think most of them were bought there.

I love your quilt Carol....but that Darlene, she is something else. You and her sewing and her cheering you on, and at the same time she was cheering me on to get some quilting done. Thanks to her my Schnibbles is finished!!! What a great friend.

Hi Carol-- Just found your wonderful blog through Darlene! Enjoyed getting to 'know' you through your posts. Glad things are getting better for you. Lost my mom in 2009 and feel like my life is just now getting back to normal. I've added you to my blog roll so I'll keep in touch. Great quilts you 2 came up with!

Most of us go through a period of lost interest, I think. Quilt shows, and get-togethers can spark the love of quilting back into us. Glad to hear you are enjoying yourself once more!
