I reached my goal and a few other things

I am so excited...I reached my weight loss goal yesterday...lost 15-1/2 pounds since Jan. 2. I started out doing the South Beach diet which I had done very sucessfully several years ago. That got me going and then I made some other changes. I started using a smaller plate at dinner...and you know it worked. I'm really never hungry anymore. I gave up sodas...I was only drinking those little Pepsi's but you know that was 100 calories I didn't need. I drink tons of water and treat myself to 1 Diet Coke a day. I'm thrilled to say that I have it under control.
Today was my day off from the shop and I didn't get a single thing sewn...but I did go to Target and bought 3 new shelves for the storage area of my sewing room. I got everything organized that hasn't been for 2 years since we moved. Here's a picture...
You'll see that there are 2 empty shelves...those are for my reproduction fabrics...I ran out of time so I'll have to finish that part this weekend. Andy has to go out of town for a conference Sunday and will be back Tuesday so I'll be organizing and sewing.

Good for you, Carol -- 15 1/2 lbs!!! That's just about what I SHOULD be doing.

Keep up ALL the good work.

I'm very new to reading your blog but wanted to congratulate you on your weightloss efforts and organizing your room. Two things I'm in desperate need of tackling myself.

Congratulations on your weight loss goal - what an accomplishment! I'm so proud of you! I really need to get back to working on this. I have a bunch more to loose than you did so I must get started.

Love your new shelves. I see you are addicted to moda fat quarters also - but then you can get them wholesale through your shop. I think that would be just too much temptation for me! Your baskets look so nice - what a great way to store things

Wow, Way to go on the weight loss. I've been working on it since the first of the year as well. I've cut out all snacking and I'm walking two miles every day! Tipping my hat to you, Carol.

Love the organization shelving. We moved into our new house almost two years ago and my sewing stuff is "still" not organized. I still have boxes in storage. ACK

Wow, great job on the weight loss! I need to get back in that mode. I was doing great until two vacation trips, the holidays, and just plain winter doldrums hit!!! No excuses now. Thanks for your inspiration.

Congrats on the weight loss - what an accomplishment. I thought you were going to say that you lost 15 pounds of fabric when I saw a few empty spaces on those shelves. Hmmmm....I think I need to take a trip to Target.

Congratulations on the weight loss. I did so well last year and lost 32 lbs but gained 10 back since the fall. The move, dining out too much, and no longer training for the Breast Cancer walk have all taken their toll!

Hi Carol, so glad you are feeling better again. Sorry I have not been stopping to comment..I'll try harder also.
The new shelves look really spiffy, I could sure use something like that.
And your blocks(s) from the Traditional Mini Quilts book are just spectacular!
It is hard to work with such small pieces, but you did a great job! Dawn is just the best, isn't she?? Hugs, Finn

P.S. Congratualtions on a very impressive weigh loss!!!

So nice to get organized. While it lasts, for me it's usually until I get really involved in finishing a quilt-then organized mess returns...hohum...smile...

You must check out my blog Carol! You are much much more organized than I am, but we both use the exact same shelving units and are evidently equally smitten by collecting entire fabric bundles. Back in Feb. I posted similar photos of my fabric storage areas.
