The Boys Have Taken to Their Bed

Oh bless their hearts...they are so pitiful...I took a suitcase out of the closet this morning and started packing some things...Camden's birthday presents and the "Mamie came to see you treats"...guess where I'm going....I'm off in the morning to spend 9 days with my kids...and the boys are sooooooo exhausted from following me around, checking the suitcase, looking in the closet for another suitcase. They're pooped and they're not talking to me.  Andy's staying here with them, so they're thinking he's their best friend right now.  I'll check in while I'm gone..I'll be busy with TBall games for Hampton and Camden's 3rd birthday, school visits, trips to the library, zoo, science center, the park and whatever else we can get into 9 days.  I couldn't be any more excited, even though the boys aren't.

Could they be any closer...they really aren't happy if they're not touching...until Howie with the black collar gets too hot and he has to get up and sit under the fan for a bit.
Oh they just make us laugh.

Sweet pic! I have two yellow labs too, that do that as well. And now we have a cat that snuggles right in there with them. Love the dog bed. I'd love to make something like that for mine.

Dogs are funny! I don't know what we did for entertainment before we got our dog Reggie.

Do they ever look up at you as if to say - please cut the fan on for me. My Casey girl does that. Have fun and the boys will be so happy when you return. Judy C

Our dogs knew that when we brought up the suitcases than a trip was imminent ... and would get nervous, following close by our side. I always wondered if they thought that if they stuck especially close to us, perhaps we'd take them along with us.

What fun you're going to have with your grands! Have a safe trip and wonderful time!

Ooh, have a great trip! Won't it be wonderful?
Our cat jumps into our open suitcases like he thinks he can come along. He doesn't realize we leave him home on purpose...

They look just like my labs when I pull out the suitcase (except mine are chocolates). Pouting on one bed together because Mommy is leaving. But they give wonderful kisses and tail wags when we get home, don't they?

Oh Carol, have a delightful visit, enjoy every single day!!! Your post made me laugh AND cry. Just like your boys, whenever our suitcases come out, one of our furbabies goes into seclusion in her kennel (it doesn't have a door on it) it has been her 'hidey hole' ever since we got her from and abusive home, so we nixed the door because we didn't ever want her to feel locked up. As for her sister, well, first she has to see that we make all of our arrangements correctly and the packing is all done to her satisfaction and only then does she put on her 'poor pitiful Friskie' face, and also takes to her bed. They do bring so much love, laughter and joy into our homes and hearts, don't they. I cried, simply because I have been doing so for the last couple of weeks off and on. Our little supervisor, Frisky, now 11 years old, is fading fast from cancer, but is not suffering or in any bad pain that the vet can detect. She's eating well, bounces around on her thinning little legs like a baby bunny when she wants a treat or to play. We try to keep her quiet but THAT is torture for her, so we decided to let her be her active over protective self as long as she is able. But the vet warned us, we are only talking about a few weeks here. Hence, the tears. BUT, they are always followed by laughter when she bounces into the room to check on things. Well, nuff said, once again sweet Carol, have a super trip and love on those kiddos as much as possible in 9 days. Big Hugs...

The boys are beautiful. My cats always get a little testy when the suitcases come out too. Funny how smart they are. I'm sure they will miss you terribly - but you have a wonderful trip, and we expect to see lots of pictures when you get back!

I just love it when you share these boys and I love how they snuggle with each other - to sweet. When we were packing for Hawaii - Cami got into our suitcase and snuggled in for a nap lol - she knew we were leaving and figured she should go to - they just know don't they.

Hugs - karen
