Just a Wee Bit...

...of sewing to share today.  I truly don't know what happens...where does the day go?  Maybe I need to do a study...find out just exactly what I do with the hours and minutes in the day.  I know we all have the same number, but some of you get way more done in a day than I do...and I'm not working anymore...hmmm.  I need to get on this!  If you have a suggestion, please share...

I did another little quilt for the Simply Charming Sew Along and had so much fun doing it...
I used red, brown and cream scraps from my Cotton Club quilt and then added some from my stash.  I'm loving these little quilts...almost instant gratification.
And just because...here's a picture of Prince Howie as his dad calls him...
he was staring at Andy, trying to intimidate him into a walk.  I swear this dog tells time.  We usually go out for a walk around 3 in the afternoon...he can be sound asleep and at about 2:58 up pops his head...and this is what he does.  If we don't pay attention pretty quickly he starts to make little noises (well as little as an 80 pound dog can make)...we usually get the message before he has to get too noisy.  Oh our fur kids...they add so much to our lives.

Oh, I definitely think they can tell time. 6:30 am every morning--Peanut needs to go outside. lol

What a cute mini! I haven't even started my first one. Yikes!!!

My dogs tell me when it's time to eat. It really throws them off when the time changes. LOL

Oh yes those furbabies can be hilarious and yes indeedy a lot of them can tell time. :D I don't think I could live in a house without one now. Love your little quilt, sugar, and when you get answers as to where the time in a day goes and how to harness it---FED EX those explanations to me. LOL

Your Simply Charming quilt is just that! I need to go back to the book. I don't remember that one.
Looks like Howie is keeping a vigil or something--I guess he is, for his walk. : )

I think what you got done shows you did a lot with your day. Think of it this way: taking time to soak in the things and people around you and taking time to enjoy what you're doing may not be the most efficient use of time but it's sure better for your soul!

I love the fabrics you have chosen.

I do think animals have a personal clock.

Prince Howie is so pretty. I don't know what happens to the hours in the day -- if you find out, I sure hope you'll let us know!

I love your mini. I'm still trying to figure out what quilt to make next. It is fun seeing what quilts everyone is making. Hugs

I agree Carol - I don't know where the time goes either. I swear, every day goes faster! Love your mini, but mostly love Prince Howie! I have a cat who begs for a snack at the same time every day! They are so funny, and such good companions.

I think I'll copy you and use my Cotton Club leftovers too. He's a beautiful dog. Our cats start waking us up at 5:30. Even on weekends:(

Girl, I feel exactly like you do too. I wonder why, now that I am living alone how come I can't get so much accomplished. I sure got a lot more done when I was a single mom raising 4 kids.

My thinking exactly, thus my post about time in a bottle a few weeks ago. Alas, I still haven't found the answer. :)
I think Prince Howie fits - he looks quite regal.
I think I need to stitch up some of those little projects...instant gratification sounds wonderful!

If you figure out how to get more done, please let me know! I've been wondering the same thing! I try not to get too wrapped up in 'getting more done' but lately it's been getting me a little down. There are so many hours in the day, but I don't feel like I'm getting done as much as I should. Ugh! Well anyway, your mini quilt is adorable and it is amazing how dogs seem to be able to tell time! Copper does the same thing when it's time to walk and eat too!

Prince Howie is very handsome. Milo knows when I come home and go in the garage, and my truck antenna hits the garage door that it's walk time. He gets all whiny until we take him.

I've been feeling the same way about time.
Love Howie, coco does this staring thing 3 times a day, breakfast, walk and dinner.
He is so regal looking!

I like the fabrics you used in this quilt.
That is so funny how dogs know time!

Dogs and cats are experts at keeping time. The cats always know when it's time to eat or when I'm coming home from work. Love your little quilt!

HI Carol! I love your little "almost instant gratification" quilts. I am working on a quilt that takes so much intense concentration that I have to do a set of four blocks, then take a break and work on 'mindless' sewing projects. Simple table toppers, etc. I made three toppers during a two day respite from the other project and then found than I was once again chomping at the bit to get back to the harder quilt. I was pleasantly surprised how well that short break worked out. I'll email you some pictures of my current project so that you can see why I have to step back every few blocks. In the meantime, I have to tell you that both of my furry kids tell time perfectly. Like 'Prince Howie', ours rouse out of a sound sleep when it's time for breakfast. Unfortunatly for me, their breakfast comes at 5am (grumble). That would be fine because hubby wakes at 4:30 or 5 am every single day even though we are retired. BUT...the furry kids, sleep in my bedroom, so the wake me up to let them out to go tell their dad that it's time to eat. Same thing at 4 pm for dinner time and 7:30 for the evening snack they require due to age and health issues. But even though I grumble about it, like you, we laugh about it every single time they jump up and say "HEY! Are you forgetting something?" They are the embodiment of joy and love. How rich they make our lives. Big Hugs my sweet friend and oodles of scratches and rubs to Prince Howie...

It is simply because we don't go off to work anymore that the days get away from us! don't know how, don't know why...it just happens, LOL!
As for (Prince) Howie- its kind of scary isn't it. They are just fur balls of love and internal clocks! He's such a handsome boy....
