I'm Making Some Progress

I'm happy to say that I'm making some progress here this week even though I feel like I've been spinning my wheels...running a zillion errands, haircut, nails (regular maintence before my big trip) laundry, cleaning, working out...but I did get Hometown Christmas Section 5 done today...a big WOOHOO going up here...it was only due on
Dec 15th...tomorrow I plan on getting Section 7 done and then I'll be caught up again. OMG, where does the time go?

Look what came in the mail yesterday...I called Donna Yackey, the designer and spoke with her...what a small, small world...Donna came to Orlando several years ago and came to my shop...we had tons of fun and so I was thrilled when I found out that this was her pattern. We chatted on the phone and plan on seeing each other when I'm in California next week. She works at Country Loft and doesn't live too far away,so if it's not her day to work, she said just call and she'll come down. I can't wait to see her!

I'm getting beyond excited...I don't know whether "my man" is going to be able to survive the next few days with me, but I'll try to be on good behavior. I'm so excited to be able to see some blogland friends at the show...oh we're going to have some fun! CALIFORNIA here I come!

Country Loft is ordering a Christmas List pattern for me. So, I guess we think alike and will have another quilt to-do.

Can't wait 'til you get here . . .it's gonna be a ton of fun.

Donna Yackey is the sweetest . . . a few years back, she had a sample up for a class that she was teaching. I didn't sign up, but the quilt weighed on my mind. I went back to inquire if that pattern might come back on the schedule again. While it wasn't planned, Donna allowed me to sign up for another class and let me be the 'special ed' student. While everyone else worked on the current project, she offered remedial instruction to me. I will never forget her kindness - or the fresh, homemade cinnamon rolls her husband delivered to the shop to keep all the ladies happy *s*

Oh, I'm sure glad SOMEONE's getting caught up on the Hometown Christmas, 'cause it hasn't been me! Yet, anyway. I have a project I want to finish and Hometown is next on the list! And Monday night, I start the Christmas List class--yippee! Hey, if you and Sharon get bored, why don't you take a little drive up here to Sacramento to visit? It should only take you about 7 hours each way! ROFLOL!

I think that is you I keep seeing that looks like a bright light down Florida way! It goes up and then it goes back down, and that happens with frequent regularity. The weathercasters here have mentioned some atmospheric disturbance in Florida.
